Pima cotton grown in Peru is the world's finest cotton, prized for its exceptional durability, softness and brilliant lustre. Thanks to ideal growing conditions and naturally rich volcanic soil it has an extra-long staple length and requires less fertiliser than commercial cotton making it more environmentally sound. Careful hand harvesting of Peruvian Pima Cotton results in a brilliant shade of white that is perfect for dyeing without the need for bleaching. The extra long fibres makes the cotton softer, more absorbent and stronger meaning garments hold their shape and last longer.
Excellent natural fibres play a key role and are the starting point of all As We Grow designs. Each As We Grow product is timeless and long lasting, a lot of attention has been paid for the perfect fit and refined details.
From the beginning, As We Grow has believed in designing products that offer real value. From offering garments that can grow with the child, to always being mindful of the environment and the communities it serves. Each piece is fair trade for the benefit of all people. As We Grow use only natural, renewable, recyclable materials that emphasise conservation and lead to environmentally sound products.
Every stage of production is eco-friendly. For all handknits As We Grow partners with indigenous women to create a sustainable flow of income for them.
