Woollykins Forever

Because you’re a wool fanatic (like us) we’d love to introduce you to our Circular Clothing Initiative - *reNEWool*. The reNEWool mission is to keep Woollykins garments in circulation, raise awareness about the value of caring for and mending textiles, make quality Woollykins clothing accessible to more families and raise money for local environmental and social causes.

Woollykins customers can now return pre-Loved Woollykins garments for store credit, and know that their items will be restored and renewed, and live on to keep another family healthy and warm.

The reNEWool Shop will house a collection of seconds and pre-loved returned pieces that have been mended, restored or made available as a kit for you to mend yourself.

How it works

When your family member outgrows their Woollykins garment, send it back to us.  We will restore the item and give you back a percentage of what you paid for the garment based on its condition. This will be in the form of points which you can collect and use against future orders.
1 point = $1 (AUD).

To participate:

Create an account so you can collect  reNEWool points. Look for the RENEWOOL Tab at the bottom of the Woollykins store to join.

Submit a reNEWool garment return (free) to let us know how many items you’re returning and get a n order number.

Send your clean unwanted Woollykins items to us with your order number.

When they arrive we will freeze them for moth control and then determine their condition. Once the condition has been established, your reNEWool account will be credited with your store credit points.

Returned garments will earn points according to their condition:

30% - UNUSED - Unworn with or without tags. For these items you will receive 30% of the original purchase price.

25% - Pre-Loved - Minor signs of wear. After a little reconditioning, we will list the item for re-sale on our website. For these items you will receive 25% of the original purchase price.

20% - Pre-Loved - Worn with minor mending required. WE MEND IT - We will direct these items to our in-house mender and list the item on the store for re-sale. For these items you will receive 20% of the original purchase price.

15% - Pre-Loved - Worn with bigger mending needed. We will assemble a YOU MEND IT kit for the new owner to mend themselves. For these items you will receive 15% of the original purchase price.

5% - Wool Salvage - Strong signs of use, beyond feasible repair but too good for the worms. We will re-use any component we can - turning it into patches for our *Darn it! Mend it.* kits. Any textile waste will be sustainably disposed of - most likely into our compost or sent for recycling. You will receive 5% of the original purchase price.

You Mend It . We Mend It.

We are mad about mending and we’re hoping our reNEWool initiative will inspire you to mend too.  Of course, if mending is not your jam, but you still want to buy pre-loved, you can buy pre-mended items. We have an in-house mender on hand for all the garments returned through the reNEWool program that are able to be reconditioned, mended by us to be reborn as a WE MEND IT garment and reworn by you or your little ones.. 

If you’re a competent mender already or keen to learn, our YOU MEND IT kits are for you. Each YOU MEND IT kit contains a garment we have assessed as being too costly a mend for us, but one we know you will be able to complete easily in your own time. Of course, this means you’ll get that garment at a lower price. You’ll receive our cute YOU MEND IT card with wool patches, yarns and a needle. A creative project, a quality garment and big savings. Brilliant!
