Fibre Scour for Wool and Natural Fibres (500mls)

An Australian-made wool scouring shampoo, Fibre Scour is formulated to remove the 'grease' from wool and other natural fibres prior to spinning. 

Fibre Scour is based on Tantech's Sheepskin Shampoo and Woolwash but has increased grease dispersing properties which remove the heavy lanolin grease in newly shorn wool. Fibre Scour leaves the fleece soft and clean, ready for spinning. 

Fibre Scour can also be used as a general laundry detergent suitable for bed linen and clothing, and is useful for removing greasy stains from heavily soiled work clothing.

Fibre Scour contains a blend of tea tree and lemon myrtle oils which have been proven effective against dust mite and pet allergens at the low temperatures required for washing wool.

Instructions for use: This product is suitable for hand washing only. Use 20ml Fibre Scour to each 10L water, choosing the water temperature according to the garment being washed. For wool articles, use warm/tepid water, and see our guide to washing wool. To remove greasy stains from heavily soiled work clothing, soak garments with Fibre Scour in HOT water before washing them in a washing machine.

Instructions for use with fleece or yarn: Scour by hand only - do not use washing machine. Do not agitate. Place 20ml Fibre Scour into each 10L hot water. Submerge the fleece or spun yarn in the hot water solution and leave for 5 minutes. Then gently paddle the fleece down to release any dirt and grease. When it appears that no more dirt is being released, the tied skeins or fleece can be spun in a washing machine if so desired. If washing by hand, gently squeeze the yarn/fleece - do not wring. Place the yarn/fleece back into clean hot water and rinse gently and thoroughly. Repeat the scouring process if water beads a lot or you can still feel grease. Note: Wool can tolerate hot water prior to knitting provided the scour and rinse temperatures are similar.
